Vol. 12 · No overt label

Belonging is a detail only the initiated can read.

Idea and artifactArchive

§1 · Primitive

“The articles in the line have no overt brand label instead they are distinguished by thoughtful and recurrent subtle detail like wood or abalone buttons, distinctive pocket linings and/or distinctive contrast stitching or the distinctive [house] bar tack on the garments interior. This allows the owner of the garment to be their own brand while at the same time experiencing a sense of belonging, feeling like part of something larger through refined touches that others “in the know” will recognize and appreciate based on the depth of the back story.”

From a brand plan, 2011.

Method

Quoted from a 2011 brand plan and from 2021 product specifications in the archive, as written. The house name is withheld; [house] marks the cut.
