Case file 02: Redrawn every night

The post

Bureau St. James · Case file 02: Redrawn every night.

Bureau St. James · Store concepts and rollout

The question: what if a store’s plan redrew itself every night?

Every store opens on a plan from head office. By the first Saturday, sizes have broken, the best pairings have sold through and the plan is out of date. A plan drawn once for the whole fleet can’t keep up. One redrawn every night, for each store, can.

The shape of the answer: a plan that reads live stock and sales and redraws the floor for the morning.

The drawing shows four nights of floor plans stacked under the morning’s store. One table, ringed in red, has walked to the door as it sold.

How old is the plan your stores opened on this morning?
